I can't help but rephrase this as "we got side-tracked on blocks
and I never got a chance to describe how cool object storage is :-)

I appreciate everyone's feedback on this.  I think a concrete proposal
for both the NFSv4 storage protocol and object storage protocol
will provide a useful basis for further discussion on the pNFS 
umbrella.
