RE: [MIP-QOS] Draft version of MIP QoS Requirements Draft

Hi,

I guess we have to see what the comments are on this draft, but given
that things seem to have converged fairly quickly, perhaps there won't be a
lot of work needed here.

Just a couple of content questions. Do we want to call out that the
solution MUST interoperate with both MIP v4 and MIP v6? We say that we
don't care whether it's v4 or v6 but call out some other techniques by name
(fast handoff, hmip, etc.)

I'm not really comfortable with what you've said in #1 under 3.3. What
are the requirements here if the QoS is not the same at the new access
router? 1) It must support the situation (I don't really know what this
means: does it mean packets will still be allowed to flow? same with some
degradation? any differentiation about which ones based on MIP concerns?)
and 2) it may signal the mobile of this situation. (does it need to inform
any other MIP entities of this situation (like the FA)?)

This set doesn't seem to have a lot (any?) MIP specific QoS requirements.
(Yeah! We're completely decoupled!) Are there no specific QoS requirements
for MIP messaging?

Is it worth putting in any kind of topology consideration - that is, this
is what some MIP usage configurations might be?
